Environmental Services Department (ESD)
At ESD, Our mission is to provide a better quality of life by promoting a healthy, safer environment through community involvement and education as well as to protect the natural resources from environmental degradation for the citizens of Laredo by ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws. Through robust community involvement, education, and proactive measures, we aim to create a healthier, safer, and more sustainable environment for present and future generations.
Our department comprises two critical divisions—the Storm Water Division and the Hazardous Materials Division. The Storm Water Division focuses on managing water quality, watershed protection, waste issues, and permits, while the Hazardous Materials Division handles the safe storage, handling, and transportation of hazardous materials.
